Sometimes all Drake flocks fight or try to breed each other. Hens keep the peace in a flock. No need for Drakes unless breeding.

I keep them with chickens, and the experience has been good. The chickens didn’t like them at first, but mostly stayed away and observed from far. The ducks have their own pen/small run and are let out when I’m home to watch them. There haven’t been any issues with them being attacked/attacking chickens.Has anyone had experience keeping them with chickens, good or bad idea?
They form strong bonds to each other. I have Hens that are older and definitely stick together. When Pandoras Momma died last year she was totally lost. Now she follows Poppy my other Hen.Depends on the environment ive had several pairs of calls where the females were fine.Just like in the wild they form pairs.
On warmer winter days mine swim. What do ducks do in the winter they won’t be able to swim because the water would freeze would they be okay, I’m all new to this sorry
Call them before you buy anything..I can’t find anything about ducks in the ordinances
