Which Rooster would you pick?

We currently have 14 hens. I would like to add a rooster. I would prefer a rooster who is handsome, nice and a good protector (although they have a huge pen they sleep in and they free range in a secure area). My main reason for a rooster is to have fertile eggs when my girls go broody.
We currently have:
1 Rhode island red
3 red sex links
1 Plymouth Rock
2 blue Andalusians
1 Easter Egger
1 Delaware
2 flowery 55 (1 silver and 1 gold)
1 svart hona
1 black swedish blue
1 olive egger who doesn't lay olive eggs lol! I was jipped

We also have:
1-11 week old light sussex
1-11 week old recessive white gene
2-11 week old black with gold around the neck
2- 3 week old brown leghorn chicks

What cockerel or rooster would you pick for this flock? I was offered a free black amaraucana cockerel for free.

I would like my future chicks to be a variety of colors and lay different color eggs.

I would probably take the ameracuna roo or an EE. If you could get an orpington, I hear they are great boys!

I would suggest a Welsummer rooster for you. I've read great reviews on the males of that breed!

My neighbor breeds them and ended up with 5 cockerels. She is going to keep two and finding homes for the other 3. He is around 10 weeks old.

I agree that orpington roos are usually super mellow. I have only dealt with EE roos, not ameraucana, but they were nice birds and you have the chance of getting blue eggs from their offspring.

I think you should get a true Ameraucana rooster, not an EE, because they have the genetics for blue eggs and when that is combined with the brown egg layers and white egg layers the chicks will grow up to lay green and blue eggs.

My neighbors are definitely true Ameraucanas. She has black, lavender and blue.

I would suggest the AM as well. I have 2 blacks and 2 lavenders as well as a few other breeds. Love my AM boys.
