About a month ago I picked up my first silkie rooster. I new he wasnt good quality but I really just liked the look of him and named him Pan. He is in the first 2 pictures. He has gotten along great with my kids and my hens. (Next 3 pictures). But just this week the rooster I arranged as back up incase I couldn't get Pan showed up (last 3 pictures). The two roosters are very different in appearance with this new one seeming to be better quality with the exception of his very pink comb. So now I'm stuck trying to decide to keep Pan or this new rooster. I do plan on breeding them to sell, but not necessarily looking to breed for show, just as a hobby. I probably already know the answer to breed this new rooster instead of Pan but I'm just looking for some opinions

Keep both, it’s always good to have a back up at the ready in case something happens to your main cock. Personally the second cock has better size and shape then Pan, but his comb is red instead of mulberry. Pan looks to have a better crest than the other cock.

Pan is about 8 months old while this need one is nearly 5 months so I know he will have some more growing out to do. I've only got a small flock of 5 silkie hens and 2 are still pretty young at about 3 1/2 months old. I've got 4 other hens of different breeds too (Pan has no interest in them). My new rooster is still separate from the flock outside and I was worried the too roosters will clash.
