Night blinked gratefully. She trusted her mate, even though she was mad at him. She loved him, too. "I forgive you." She said, a bit grudgingly.
Suddenly lightning struck, quite close. All of Night's fur stood on end. MY KITS! She realized in a panic, and bolted back to camp, not waiting for Mint.
Lovely crept out of the ferns. She tiptoed up to a soggy Mint. In contrast, the water seemed to slide down Lovely's glossy fur so it was hardly soaked at all. "Hey" giggled Lovely, lightly brushing his muzzle with her poofy, cloud-like tail. "You're only going to get wetter if you just stand there like that! Come on, lets shelter under this bush." She blinked her mesmerizingly soft blue eyes at him.
