Steve,
Doesn't your state have any Exotic Animal, Poultry Sales or Swap Meet? Take them there if you can't unload them. You'd be surprised, someone may want them. That's where I send my excess, if they don't make the soup pot - lol
I've been getting birds/eggs from Jean and Wayne, as well. Wayne had some trouble with fertility earlier (which I suppose was our climate) which he said improved, and I just emailed him to get some more today but his bators are shut down for the season, so I have to wait `til next year. Bummer...
We are incubating our first hatches a bit later this year due to college running me ragged all the way through summer and I haven't been able to work on my new bator room. In previous years I had them in the house but my NPIP inspector said this year I MUST get them into their own room or forfeit my status :-( I've yet to line the walls of an old tack room(I don't have enough horses anymore to warrant it's necessity as a tack room) which is going to be my new incubator room but hey, at least we got new wiring to accommodate the amperage of bators and brooder lights in that building, which was dug in this spring. I have a couple weeks in early August off, so that's when I'll be getting to the walls and then it'll be a mad rush to get debris samples in, etc... Ah the joys of keeping up with modern rules...
