My hen hatched 3 mixed chicks yesterday. One is black, one is typical chick yellow, but one is white. What's up with that? I've never seen a white chick.

Not albino...it's got normal eyes. Some one said "silver expression"...I'll need to look that up....

I can get one tonight

My silver Modern Game Bantam baby I hatched two weeks ago was hatched out pure white...she is getting her silver feathers now... the white babies are adorable :D

Chicks that carry silver rather than gold are often white. Also, there is a gene that causes snowy white chick down.

lotsacluckin--one of two posible dads is a silver duckwing oegb...but that is almost exactly what the chick looks like! She is still a little week as a scuffle between hens crushed her egg on hatch morning--I thought she was a gonner!
