White claws and feet on Guinea Fowl

One of the Guinea Fowl that I was referring to showed up the other day but it was very difficult to capture good footage of it as the more dominant Guineas kept chasing it away from me (as seen for a moment in this gif).
The arrow is pointing at the Guinea with the stiff foot "peg-leg". You can't make it out in this gif but I assure you that it does have white claws; ...but thinking now maybe the white claws are just a coincidence? I am so unsure because this seems to be an infliction on the Guineas with white parts on their feet.

The one image above and one below are captured from the video. See how the bottom of the foot does not touch the ground. The foot does not seem to bend at the joints.

I wonder if it's discoloration caused by an injury or some such, like when parts of my fingernail grew in white after I smacked myself with a hammer?

That is a great explanation. I never thought of that, and I think it goes a long way to explaining those Guineas with the combination of white feet and limping.
