White Cornish: Building a Quality, Sustainable Flock for Meat and More.....

Pics
I keep looking at the pictures of FD's birds then going outside looking at my hatchery hybrids. One has the tail, another has smaller wings held high and yet another has passable width. Lol

I always choose my breeders by what bothers me most about my flock. You can't fix everything at once, and none will ever be good enough. But you can usually see a improvement year to year. Iv worked on wings and leg width, breast and back width, skull width and shank length... some where along the way my tails crept up and combs became unruly.... eyes are a constant mystery.... this year I plan to address tails and combs with a eye towards "eyes".... yeah, i know, kinda cheesy...

And I did check Elvis the blue Cochin, his eyes ate still red. His daughters are black. From what I've read that will change. Maybe not since she is a hybrid.:(

I looked at my 10 week olds today too. They mostly have pearl eyes now.... 8 week olds are still blue.... The two oldest ones in this pen are 10 weeks. The rest are 8 and 9...
