I apologize if this isn't the right place to put this, I'm kinda worried. We are contacting our avian vet but it sometimes takes her awhile to get back to us, figured I should post here

Went outside to move some of our older chicks outside to notice one of my roosters ( a bantam red Cochin) has some... discharge? dust? near his nose? It's white and dry. Doesn't LOOK like snot. There appears to be a little bit of some of the 'white stuff' on his comb - but I can't tell.

He had been separate from other chickens because we are in the process of moving around chickens and building new coops so he hasn't been with another chicken in a while. Note: he is in a shed turned coop in a large pen/crate. my father is building an area inside the coop & has been drilling in there. Could it be dust..? He is the closest to the working area. I realize we should have put up a tarp or something :(

I have no idea how long he has had this. My mom says she thinks it was there yesterday but didn't think anything of it ( UGH )

I did searches but I keep getting stuff about respiratory diseases and infections and I'm panicking. He has no symptoms. His eyes are clear and he acts normal. And frankly it doesn't look like snot or anything of that sort

Fungus came up as well. That seemed to look more like what I'm seeing.
But I don't know :(

No body else has this, by the way , I checked, just him.

Here's a photo ( I hope this works lol)

Can anyone help me? Please do if you know anything.

Vet replied. Believes it to be debris from the wood. She said to get a q tip and whipe it away. We are going to do that now.

Anybody have any other opinions? We are gonna take extra precautions now for the chickens when my father builds in there ,regardless.
