Any reason why I shouldn*t be tossing white grubs (you know, the ones that you find curled up when you pull up a clump of grass in your yard) to my two little pullets? We*ve been puling up weeds and clumps of crabgrass in the yard and the girls nearly sit in my lap and shake in anticipation of their next tasty treat. It dawned on me (after about the 40th grub) that I should probably check and make sure there wasn*t some awful toxin in them...

I hope not! My chickens love them!!

Those are Japanese Beetle grubs, I have been feeding my chickens them for a while and they love it.

Yummy yummy treat. But keep in mind that most insects are intermediate hosts for parasitic worms and some diseases. Feed bugs sparingly to young birds.
