White Leghorn, the forgotten breed

I'm looking for show quality Bantam White Leghorn hatching eggs. Please PM your contact info &/or leads...thanks in advance! Maureen

Brown eggs  would be just  as  lame  and tasteless  as white eggs   if  the chickens  would be  kept in cages  and fed  sh*t like supermarket eggs are.

My mother works for a very large egg company here in CA. This business also has a couple feed stores as well as their own feed mill that they use to sell feed and feed the birds on thier own ranches. I buy and feed the same feed that they feed those hens. It's not bad feed. I show chickens that eat the same thing. It's quality feed, and chickens have to have the same necessities as another breed( excepting ornamental gluten free Chinese birds) just because they mass produce the birds to fill the barns and there are so many doesn't mean they feed them sh*t. They just probably get the same feed as you for a low mass purchase price.

There is a certain amount of ground cardboard/paper in a majority of chicken feeds (pellets & crumbles)

I have 2 white leghorn hens and I love them very much. They are very friendly and will walk up to you to be picked up and petted. I hope more people purchase them bcause they are a hardy breed and very good to have around. They are great with other breeds and people.

hello I have had pearl white leghorns since 2011 and they are the best white egg layer by far as you all know. I had to sell my flock last fall do to moving. well I am looking to get chickens again and was wondering if the California white leghorn was as good as the pearl leghorn.

I just got three brown and two white leghorn chicks. It sure is fun watching these active cute chicks. Im going to make sure i hold and pet them enough as they grow and well see if this whole flighty bird thing is true or a matter of people not putting forth any effort.
Everyone has a different view.People always write that cochins dont lay well.My bantam cochins lay almost every day.

I have 2 white leghorn hens that are a year old and then I've hatched out 8 of their eggs. My leghorns were the first chickens we got. I have one that lays 2 eggs a day. I was actually wondering do the roosters develop more quickly? I have 2 that are almost a month old and one of them already has a comb and wattles.

I'm a hen raisin' newbie. I've got 4 Jersey Giant pullets. About 16 weeks old.
Someone gave me a couple of White Leghorn pullets about 12 weeks old.
The dominant Jersey likes to bully the Leghorns. The dominant leghorn (though half the size) always runs off the giants. I've had this situation for about a month. I keep them in separate coops, so no one gets hurt.
Any ideas on how to integrate the flocks or should I just keep them separated?

I just let them settle there differences. It's a chickens way of life. Hence the saying, "pecking order". They won't kill each other, it may look like it.The hardest thing to do is you just have to walk away. I have a 100 chickens. Just the way it works.
