White Leghorn, the forgotten breed

How old is she?

About eight months.

Are you sure she's pure leghorn? By now I would think her comb would be larger. I'm not sure how possible it is for one to have a smaller comb as all of mine have large floppers haha

She's very pretty :)

I hatched her from hatching eggs from a local. They just keep several leghorns in a pen, who do have the big combs. Perhaps when she starts laying it'll grow out. We will see.

Thank you :)

Even though mine are hatchery stock, they started getting giant combs as they started laying. They started at 6 months in the summer and have nice large combs now.

By the way are the hatchery quality white leghorns the ones with silver beaks and legs? Mine are for sure leghorns but the leg/beak color isn't yellow its more like a silvery white.

If she's been laying a while, she'll lose color, in a sequence known as bleaching. Resources from her body will go into her eggs.

They're pretty young, will only be a year old in march. They didn't have yellow legs/beaks when I first got them though. Or do you mean by like everyday laying? Cuz they do pretty much lay every day.
