White Leghorns

I love my white leghorns. If I sit in the run/coop area.. they will come and fly and perch on me. They skatter when you try to pet them, but my red rangers kinda do too. I can't wait till they start to lay. I talk to them and they look at me.. I love my chickens!

We have 2 white leghorns, I picked them up from feed store when I could only find 4 barred rock that I thought were girls (3 were, so I was happy). Just turned 16 weeks. Anyway, they were sexed already and now are looking very hennish, so they were right.. THey are so friendly. We have one with a slightly longer tail feather (noticeable only to me who raised them), and she is friendly and grumpy is her side kick. But they are both underfoot, just friendly lets us get a hold of her and grumpy scampers away when hands come near. I think they are a great bird. I can't wait til they start laying.

I work with a guy who said, "don't get leghorns, they are craaaazzzzzyyyy." He went on and on about stories about those crazy birds. I have not found that to be the case. I kind of got them expecting not to like them, but I love them so far. Great addition to an old thread, glad to see others have had the same experience we have had so far.
