White Rock x Rhode Island Red ...

A cross between a Rhode Island Red male and silver factor White Rock female produces brown sex-link chicks. The chicks can be separated by sex at the time of hatching since the females are primarily red and the males are primarily white. That is one major advantage of that cross, the ability to tell from the time of hatch which are girls and which are boys. They tend to produce very good numbers of brown eggs but I think I read somewhere that they stop laying at an earlier age than other layers who aren't sex-linked. I'm not certain on that though.
Good day i just came across this post so I was asking about cross between a Rhode Island Red and white rock female what is the results are they good or bad

I'm new to chickens all together - so I didn't know what breed would suit us best. But knew that my grandparents always liked the Rhode Island Reds. Then I found some cheap hybrids - White Rock x Rhode Island Red. Those are what I ordered and will be getting in June.

Does anyone have or know much about this hybrid breed ? Pros and Cons ?
Details please ...
We bought five they were supposed to be six but the shoulder is one so we went to the feed store and bought a Jersey Giant which she is a beautiful white large bird larger than anything and I have in the pen. They haven't started laying yet but I hear the eggs are large and brown and they're egg laying machines from what I understand.
