Sometimes they are shown as a variety of silkie and other times as a separate breed of their own. Note that a frizzled silkie and a sizzle are not the same thing, but both can be shown. Frizzled silkies, however would be recognised, whereas sizzles would not.

There is beautiful lacing on the "Black" Sizzle's feathers, that's for sure. When I get home, I'll get a close-up. She has Silkie lineage, the breeder has been using it with Bantam Cochins for 8 generations. I think they have well-proportioned crests. I'd like to know how I can make them bigger! Polish? I'm on order for 2 bearded white pullets from Sundy. And I've got a Bearded Silver Laced Roo.

I've been yelled by some for considering to cross them, I guess they don't like the idea of loosing breeds to crosses. I'll post on the Polish thread, but I think Silver Laced Roo X Blue sizzle = 100% Blue?

frizzle isnt a breed that why there not in there own class it gene that why frizzle can come in any breed
sizzle is from breeding silkies to frizzle and getting frizzle chicks sizzle dont have silkie feathers
frizzled silkies are silkies with both frizzle silkied feathers

I understood Sizzles to be judged just like Silkies, with the exception of feather type (in this case smooth or frizzled feathers - w/ barbs vs Silkie feathers - lacking barbs). Black skin, 5 well-spaced toes, feathered legs, crest, shape, disposition, etc...

Exactly.

I don't remember if there were any in the show that I was show secretary of. If there were then the breeder entered them in their breed class.

The first time I saw one I was amazed at how stunning it was. Then my friend told me what it would require to keep the look and keep them healthy. It would require a great deal more space than I have.

ABA changed how frizzles are judged. Once upon a time not so many years ago, regardless of breed, ABA wanted all frizzled birds judged against each other. APA to my understanding did not have this requirement.

Anyways, a few years ago (since 2005) ABA changed their standard to recognise frizzle for ALL breeds, and to require that EXCEPT for a Frizzle Club show that they be judged within their own breed as are all other varieties. For a Frizzle Show they are also judged against all other frizzles, regardless of breed.
