White silkie with black feathers? (with pics)

Thanks for the info, feathersite has lots of pics but not nearly enough info.

From feathersite, I'm actually guessing she is a painted silkie because of she was completely white to begin with and now is just showing the black feathers. Photos will come later tonight.

Unless she is a project bird, I seriously doubt that she is paint. I haven't heard of anyone working on paints in the US--it would require either importing birds (very expensive) or crossing with another breed.

Like i said, completely white at birth until 2 weeks old and started getting black feathers.

This is a hatchery chick from esteshatchery, and they just sell them as assorted...so I don't know...

She is cute though:D

More pictures to come later tonight.

Wow, she does look kindly painted doesn't she . . . . .

Bet you could sell some fertile eggs outta that girl if she is painted . . .

I think she's a just a bad quality silkie and you probably don't want her, so I'll do you a favor and take her off your hands.

Hehehe, just kidding...she's beautiful, and I think she looks like a splash, but then I don't really know.

That would be awesome if it was a paint, but from the sounds of it they are very rare. To bad its my only sickie. It had a sister who died in shipping....
