White Sport Cream Legbars

Pics
I have found a White Cream Legbar Hen anyone know where I might get a male?
You can breed her to regularly colored cream legbar males and and have a very good chance of getting m If you know exactly who the parents are then you could also breed back to a parent and a much higher percentage of white cream legbars.

Aloha,

It also helps to say where you are located, maybe someone lives nearby. But yeah, if you have a male that looks regular but related to the white female one, there is a chance that he carries the recessive white gene, and therefore could create white chicks with her.

Elissa,

I think that we need to take this off line.  You did not offend me and I hope I have not offended you.  I will call you so that we can discuss further.

Best regards,

Hi Tony. No hard feelings!

I agree with you about how lovely the white and colorful gold tinted ones (I like to call them Creme Brûlée Legbars :) ) are. As for variety and breed, It's just a matter of semantics, and since the rule makers are the ones that vote on whether to accept our beloved breed in to their book, we need to play by their rules, that's all. Still the same bird we know and love!

Speaking of love, many people are loving the white color. APA folks I have conversed with have said that it's easier for new breeders to start with a solid variety like white, so the whites I think will really have legs if we give the a chance. I am thinking we need to get some standards written for them. Kestlyn offered to help get the white standard written, since the white plumage should be pretty straight forward! Plumage...white :) What do you think?

Aloha Puhi,
We are wondering if you have Cream Legbars or Ameraucana egg-laying chicks for sale?
If so, when would the chicks be available for pick-up, and how much are you asking?
We live in Kahaluu and are interested in two egg-layers (blue eggs :) ). Thank you so much.

Aloha,

My gurls have not been laying very much the last two months. But as it is cooler now, they are starting to lay again. I brought over the rooster the other day. I may hatch a couple in a few days though, but I should have a bunch is a month. Are you able to have a rooster? I have some true araucana juveniles that include a few little cockerels.

Iʻll let you know how the hatch goes.

Aloha nui, Puhi,

Thank you so much for your replies, and the link to the Hawai`i thread :)

We don't want a rooster, we were just looking for 2 egg-layers.
We found a store in Kaneohe which has Ameraucanas, so
we decided to go ahead and get the Ameraucanas. But thank
you so much.

Hope that all is well with you :)
Take care

Aloha FatD,

When your chicks are about 3 weeks, look up "sexing easter eggers" on this BYC site and they will tell you how to make sure that your "ameraucanas" are female. Itʻs all in the feather colors. Thatʻs one cool thing about easter eggers.

Aloha, Puhi
