Just so I'm clear on this, do you mean the majority of the feathers aren't white, but blue?
I'm really curious because the little splash I hatched out had a white feathering with blue/black splashing.
I sure with I had this bird to take pictures of, but I lost it in the fall at about 4 weeks old.

what do you mean by newer and more recognized? there is only one kind of blue splash, and if this rooster is the kind i'm thinking of(like this hen

) when crossed to a blue hen, like the owner mentioned, will produce both blue and splash.

I mean that the majority of the feathers are blue with black splashing instead of the majority being white.

Most splash have the blue base instead of the white. The recognized splash pattern in the APA standard of perfection has a blue base and black splashing.

A sunburnt splash, perhaps. It's a bit yellowed in color, but yes that would technically be splash, though it should have more and darker splashing.

no necessary if you trying to get white sumatra.
he is a white black splash his dad was a black sumatra mom was a white splash game hen
thats the reason he is not blue splash
the black feathers actually look dark green
I know blue sumatra was created from crossing blue andalusia game.

after too much work they came out with some beautiful birds in blue.
I know is wrong call this birds sumatras since the original sumatras are black.

Sumatras come in many color varieties aside from black. Blue Sumatras are still Sumatras, as are Splash, white and other varieties. The first color was black, but there have been other colors developed since then and they are purebred Sumatras, just different color varieties.
