white sumatra

what kind of mating did this rooster come from? if he is splash, shouldnt the black in him be blue?

no necessary if you trying to get white sumatra.
he is a white black splash his dad was a black sumatra mom was a white splash game hen
thats the reason he is not blue splash
the black feathers actually look dark green
I know blue sumatra was created from crossing blue andalusia game.

ok, so with the blue i am familiar with, if you cross a splash to black you get 100% blue. what are the percentages of colors you get when breeding this new kind of splash?

they will come out, black white splash, blue, blue splash, a little percent pure black if is cross with a black sumatra.
if is cross with blue sumatra color will be white splash, blue splash a little percent of blue and maybe some whites here and there not so often.

after too much work they came out with some beautiful birds in blue.
I know is wrong call this birds sumatras since the original sumatras are black.

Sumatras come in many color varieties aside from black. Blue Sumatras are still Sumatras, as are Splash, white and other varieties. The first color was black, but there have been other colors developed since then and they are purebred Sumatras, just different color varieties.

with all this crosses some sumatras have lost their behavior.
I mean the game and wild behavior

Its not genetically possible to get anything other than blue from a splash x black breeding. If you're getting other colors, then there are more/other genes involved.

that's right the rooster is splash but not from a blue or splash sumatra, he was a cross from a white splash game hen the father was a black sumatra.

Definitely see now how red they are talking about in that picture on the face/wattles.
Really beautiful and really odd for me to see Sumatra with solid white feathers.

I'm not to impressed with the White color on my birds we still have a long ways to go to get pure whites and everything else in order, I would like to start by getting the yellow tint out of them hopefully we will hatch some better looking ones this year.

Then he's not a splash. Its not possible for a black bird to produce a splash - EVER.

toget perfect white sumatras is a lot of work and is no way to get white sumatras without doing some crosses to obtain the white feathers.
for all those that we are in this journey
all my respect.
