Who all keeps their chickens IN THE HOUSE?

When I got my two babies, I kept them in a pet carrier inside the house. When they got older, I let them outside in the yard during the day. I would take the carrier outside, open the door and they'd come out. But when it started getting dusky dark, they'd come back and get in the carrier. Then I'd shut the door and bring them inside. But that changed when we got a rooster. He wouldn't fit. haha

the closest i've come to them being in the house was Brownie following me in for a treat. dh got wind of that and said no more. i would love it to be able to litter train too! Sounds like fun!

I've said a lot that there isn't much of a difference between a parrot and duck/chicken. everyone thinks its crazy to have fowl indoors but not parrots... why?? I just don't understand it. Large parrots ike macaws, etc can't spend hours in a cage everyday.. so therefore their poop is going to be everywherejust like it would be if you had a chicken indoors. Even with smaller parrots like budgies the minium amount of time daily that they need out of cage time is 2 hrs. A cockatoo's poop isn't going to be much different than a duck's.. I'm so sick of hearing everyday that fowl "weren't meant to be indoors" or that "only crazy people keep them indoors". someone needs to educate my family.

My 2 indoor ducks are certainly smart enough to be trained to go in a litterpan, I just don't know how to train them and I was always told that was impossible because they don't have an anus like mammals do so the poop just falls out.. but if that were true wouldnt they be unable to hold their poop when on a nest?

I know that when i get my chickens they will come indoors often but i dont have enough room to keep them indoors (my parents are stupid about the indoor fowl thing [unless theyare tiny like quails] so if they're going to be indoors they have tobe in my bedroom).
