Who all keeps their chickens IN THE HOUSE?

I bring in my girls if I'm gone all day. I only let them out in the yard if I'm home, since we've had a problem with a neighbor's dog. If I have to be out of the house all day, they don't have a chance to run around, so I bring them in the house and put them in the bathroom with the rug rolled up. My husband thinks I'm crazy, but I don't mind cleaning up chicken poop, if it means they get to play.

So why do Kcallis' chickens poop randomly, but the chicken owned by the woman in Mahonri's story poop in one spot?

To each his own. But I sure cant keep them in the house. Its bad enough having them inside for the brooder phase. I love my chickens as much as the next BYCer. Mine come up to the screen door and ask for treats but that is where they stop. I cant imagine training a chicken. Mine poop everywhere and anywhere. Even in the feeder if they happen to be on it. I didnt think they could help it.

People use to keep house chickens but I thought they were caged.
