who am I...identity crisis

those are homegrown tomatos...I would not feed them any I bought out of the store...most of them have the taste quality of card board or glorified library paste...I wont eat them...I have to grow my own...I think t IS potatos that are a no no...

Yep, it is potatoes that are a No No. Hi LW, my chickies are growing good. Polish chick is getting a real poof head.LOL ,I love um.

Potatoes at ALL or just to babies. My big chickens eat all table scraps.

Tomatoes, potatoes, and peppers are all members of the Nightshade family but the tubers and fruit are not poisonous [obviously]. As a previous poster said if tomatoes were poisonous I wouldn't have any birds left-they get a lot of my surplus in the summer. Weekly we do a refrigerator clean out which produces what my wife calls the "chicken bowl". I know potatoes regularly go into the bowl and I assume peppers have as well.
As far as I know if you can eat it so can your chickens.
