mmkay, I can do raw cookie dough, and brownie batter (my favorite) but the very thought of a slimy, raw egg sliding down my throat....yep, definitely makes me gag....and gag again
I actually broke an egg on my counter today when something fell out of my cupboard, I scooped it up as much as I could, with my hand, to take to the sink, and about gagged feeling the raw egg in my hand
Eggnog......every Christmas and in mass quantity. I once tried the cooked version and it just wasn't the same. I kinda figure if I add enough brandy the bacteria will get drunk and leave me alone. LOL
Ummm.....eggs on their cereal? For real? Like whisked and poured over? I have never heard of such.
MY children have eaten their weight in uncooked cookie dough, cake batter, etc. Our oldest will 'cook' things only to eat the batter.
I used to make an ice cream mix that used raw eggs...but stopped doing it after reading about the health safety. I also could not take the texture of the raw egg alone.
Yep, whisked and poured over the cereal . . . I thought that was a normal thing when I was little, and was very surprised when my friends informed me otherwise.
I didn't know people actually sucked eggs! Though I had heard of the raw egg with vinegar and pepper. I'm inclined to believe the health risks are blown out of proportion, but I'm still going to avoid it. I agree with others in that the texture alone is enough to make me move on.
I'm sorry for the person who had salmonella poisoning. That must have been awful
I love cookie dough and cake batter, raw egg and all. But I only eat the eggs my hens lay, and I know they are fine. Never been sick like that. Sorry for those of you who have.
I've eaten a few half cooked eggs that still had runny whites and a cold yolk. I prefer one egg mixed with like a table spoon of sugar and a half cup of water or so steamed... is that a custard?
