Who else belongs to the 'Hunting Season Widow/Widowers Club'? ;)

Its nice to know I am not alone...lol.

He and his buddy came home with a doe last night. She is hanging in my barn now...*gag* lol.

DH bow hunts, then switches to shotgun, onto muzzle-loader and then back to bow. So deer season here lasts for about 4 months.

I shouldnt complain really. We may need the venison or face starvation this winter.

Between September 15th to Janruary 2nd, I'm a whatever season -grouse, pheasant, turkey, deer, bear and each weapon - it is widow. After 20 years, I'm used to it. If I want to see my DH, I need to go hunting with him. I enjoy the time spent outdoors with him - the meat is just a benefit! thankfully I also like the taste of most of it. Bear's greasy!

I usually hunt more than my boyfriend but this year he's been out every day (all day) and I've only been out twice. (season just opened on the 1st.)

No deer to show for it yet. I did get some pictures of some little bucks.

This little buck had no idea I was just a few yards away, tho' I think he heard the camera a couple of times.

Good luck to the other hunters!

Uh, I'm the one who leaves for the woods.

DH would rather be at the computer or reading a book. He sure misses my cooking, so I guess I can sign him up for the club.

I haven't left yet though because I don't have anything except for regular guns, so I have to wait till the middle of November.

my hubby has been invited this year to go with his cousin. This will be the first time ever for us.

I am a real ninny when it comes to hunting, I feel so bad for the deer.. but I'm looking forward to the extra meat in the freezer. As long as I don't have to see the deer dead or being processed I should be ok.

My husband paid 425.00 in hunting dues ~ bow season started last month and he has yet to go hunting. Just had to join. Gonna kick his butt if he doesn't start going.

Sharon and I hunt together, our stand is about 100 feet from the back door. Well if you can call it a stand, it's actually a shooting bench, with a lawn chair overlooking the field behind our house.

. When she said she wanted to hunt we got her a Kimber 84M rifle in .243, a nice leupold scope, I hand loaded her custom ammo and practiced practiced practiced. The first day of the season last last year there was a nice buck in field about a 100 yards out, and she missed. She said it kept looking at her thru the scope.

Maybe this year.

Well after 6 years of being a “hunting widow” I decided to join in. My first year I hunted with rifle and got a 11 point buck and a doe, my second year nothing, third a 12 point buck, wasn’t able to go my 4th year because of an injury and this year I am trying out bow hunting. We both hunt but we don’t hunt “together” we hunt different locations/properties. It is a lot of fun! I love watching the fawns or the pheasants and even the squirrels playing.

I hunted until my DD was born. My DH loved hunting together and filling the freezer for FREE is great! The only problem is my Dh has decided to hunt everything- Deer, Ducks, Goose, Squirrel, Hog and anything else he can find. I refuse to eat a Squirrel and he is sneaking them in the freezer. I know he is going to try and trick me into eating them
