I was in an auto accident in 1986, rolled my little bitty car into a little bitty ditch, and have had migraines on & off ever since. It's my neck that's all messed up. Being an A-1 Klutz, I've also fallen down stairs twice and the bang! Bang! Bang! of my head off the stairs didn't exactly help matters any. (If you ever wondered what is wrong with me, now you know)
I get the aura, and I know by now that I have only about an hour until the pain arrives, so i take 3 Advil. That usually controls the pain well enough. The problem though is driving. Seeing things like the power line poles or tree branches move around the car make my eyes react as if something is thrown at my face. I hate that. But at least I can drive - sunglasses seem to help that.
I don't get them as bad as I used to, and I'm very happy about it! I do have two children that get migraines with no aura, and advil and a nap seems to help them. One is a boy of 12 and one is a girl of 8.
