Who else got some 2013 chicks?!

I just bought 8 from Tractor Supply over the Easter weekend:

2 Golden Comets
2 Buff Orpingtons
4 Bantams (1 splash silkie, 1 partridge cochin, and 2 questionable - I'm thinking some variety of Old English Game)

I'm still hoping to find some Easter Eggers.

Just ordered 15 from Cackle. So excited! Shipping out the 1st of next month.
5 Golden Laced Wyandottes pullets, 5 Salmon Faverolles pullets and 5 Blue Sumatra straight run! :)

Well, the "chicks" are doing great! I'm almost finished with their run, just have to put that roof on!
400

Your coop looks awesome!

we just picked up Sunny today, sadly we woke up easter morning and on of our red starts Teriyaki had passed. Guess she wasnt meant to make it. Had her out the night before and she seemed fine. TSC gladly replaced her, which I was very pleased with. even though I got her at a diferent TSC. here are pictures of here when we first brought her home :) Other chicks welcomed her and no pecking or anything, I am very pleased! she is only 3/4 days old and the others are a week old so I am keeping the temp at 90 *F for a few more days for her sake :)

any idea on her breed? she was in a bin labled "Mixed pallets" she could be one of 4 breeds. I believe the breeds were red pullets, Buff Orpingtons, Leghorns and there was also another breed but cant remember.

Thanks very much! We work full time, so I want a safe place to let them into every day, and then when we're home we can let them into their bigger fenced in pen.

That looks like a Buff Orpington if I've ever seen one.

Mine came the first week of March to cold Montana.

I got one of each of the following:
  • Buff Orpington
  • California White Leghorn
  • Barred Plymouth Rock
  • Buff Brahma
  • Easter Egger
  • Norwegian Jaehorn
  • Gold lace wyandotte
  • silver lace wyandotte
  • Buckeye
  • partridge chantecler
  • 5 red broilers
  • 5 packing peanuts destined for the the freezer.

I firmly believe variety is the spice of life, and I want a spicy life.

Maybe a buff, but her face kinda looks more leghorn to me.... I'd be interested in seeing her in another week!

I picked up 13 little fluff balls on March 15th. They've grown so much already! They're mixed breed babies from a flock of EE (100% genetically ameraucana, but not conforming to the feather color standards), Araucana, Maran, and RIR. I've been trying to guess what they're all mixes of, what gender they are, what their feather color will be- it's too much fun! Some are obvious- rumpless Araucana, feathered legs Maran, cheek tufts/slate legs EEs, and I think we have two 100% RIR. Only time will tell! So far I'm guessing that at least 4 of them are Roos, but I'm still not positive.

Here they are at 1 week old:

And yesterday at 3 weeks old:
