Our baby girls are growing up so fast. They'll be 4 weeks old Sunday. We took them out in their playpen for their first day out since getting them home. They really seemed to enjoy the sunshine, green grass and the worms and bugs fud lady could bring them. Our older flock completely ignored them so I'm thinking eventual introduction might not be so bad afterall.

Photos of my new brood can be found on my profile page. I ordered 15 bantams (EE and RIR) from Cackle (got 16) and 7 EE bantams (1 deceased from smothering) from Meyer 4 weeks later. I got 2 sets because I lost 2 of the first brood to a cat that got into my garage. Since they are not sexed I worried that I was going to be short on females so I ordered 7 more from different place with a low minimum (and different colors). The new 6 babies are in the bin while the 4 week olds are in the kennel in a makeshift wire brooder.

Newest additions have shipped!!!! 5 EEs and 3 Gold laced Cochins. I ordered from a company that uses "packing peanuts" aka little boys for warmth sooooo......I will probably have a few unknown extras! Can you tell I am excited????

Yikes, which hatchery is this? I hope I don't get any extra roos in my box! I'm expecting a few sexing mistakes even though I ordered all pullets. But not too many!
