There's nothing like some baby chicks to bring me back to BYC. It's so much fun seeing all your new little fuzzy peeps. And, I just gotta share these two new chicks. Sunshine is a Buff Orpington and Night is an Americauna. I'm looking forward to watching them grow and join my tiny flock.
besides the ones I am hatching I just got 6 babies from the big R. 2 turkens, 2 cochin bantams one white and a black and white, 1 RIR, and 1 black star.
Names are Nancy and Nella (turkens), Casper and Snowflake the cochens, Ginger RIR, and Ebony Black star. the only one I am worried about is Ebony. My daughter picked her because she was the smallest, pitiful looking and all alone. (not a good combo) but I have been giving her protein sips of tuna juice and yolk.
We just got our babies Feb 27. 5 Rhode Island Reds, 5 Arcauna. We lost one Red 3 days later (we think due to pasty butt, although it was much smaller than the others from day 1). We added 2 Black Australorp and 2 Barred Rock for a total of 13. This is our very first experience with raising chickens and we are very excited.
