who else has chicks in the house??

I have chicks in the house. I keep the brooder downstairs. I'm on my second batch of chicks. My older ones are about 10 weeks old in the coop. My kids still like to bring them in the house once in a while. I don't mind as long as they stay in the kitchen. I'll probably bring my Mille fleur d'uccle in the house when it's -20 or my frizzle Cochin in when it's in the high 90's back into the basement in the dog kennel.

I have 10- 2 week old chicks in our bathroom right now.

I have 37 chicks and 10 poults in my laundry room

Hubby said-no more chicks in the house but after 8 months hadn't finished the outdoor brooder.

I have two D'Uccles which should have gone outside. By now... But... There are 20 chicks in two brooders in the bathroom, and the D'Uccles have their "brooder" but are ranging freely in the bathroom.

I have been incubating and hatching since last September. The bathroom has NOT been chick-less since.

Bathrooms are easy to keep clean. I'm going to move soon, and just don't want to do the chick grow out and integration thing twice with this batch. I would prefer to move 'em all out when I am relocated and have the new coop(s) set up for everybody outside.

...except for maybe this D'Uccle pair...... <*innocent expression*>

I THINK IT IS OK TO HAVE THEM IN THE HOUSE, AS LONG AS YOU KEEP THEIR AREA CLEAN.. WE HAVE HAD 13 DIFFERANT HATCHES COME OUT OF THE INCUBATOR SO FAR THIS YEAR, THEY ALL START LIFE IN A 55 GAL FISH TANK, THEN GRADUATE TO A BIGGER WIRE CAGE WITH A LIGHT, THEN AFTER ABOUT 3 WEEKS THEY MOVE OUT SIDE TO YET ANOTHER BIGGER PEN STILL WITH A LIGHT.. AFTER THE 3RD CAGE THEN THEY GRADUATE TO A MUCH LARGER PEN WITH OUT A LIGHT . I LOVE HAVING THEM IN THE HOUSE , BUT IT IS NICE TO GO OUT TO THE BIG PENS AND THEY ARE STILL TAME AND FRIENDLY.. SO FAR THIS YEAR WE HAVE HATCHED OVER 300+ , SOLD A FEW AND KEPT A FEW.. AND STILL THE INCUBATOR IS GOING FULL BLAST... HATCHING EVERY WEEK OR SO..

I have 23 2month old TSC chicks in 1 pen in my basement, 10 that are a few weeks younger that I hatched in another pen also in the basement, and 12 in a brooder pen in my family room. The inubators are in a bedroom with more chicks to be hatching in the next few weeks. I know the older ones need to go outside, but we are having non stop rain flooding, so we can't even get a start on the new coop. Note to self- *Don't get the chicks before the coop-*

Well, I hope the porch counts..... we have roughly 50 chicks, some ducks, geese and 60 guineas on the porch. (6 brooder!!!_

Last winter we had brooders in the house, all the incubators running and all our petit bunnies like our Netherland dwarfs in the house and Oh yea! our new born goats by the fireplace since we don't centrally heat the house..... Zoo inside or out, both thank you.... A little boy at church pulled on my sleeve last week and said to me I went to the zoo last week, I said that's great where, thinking he would tell me the Atlanta zoo or maybe birmingham, no..... He started laughing and covered his mouth and said, "Miss Nancy, you are so funny, I went to your house, member???? Then it was my turn to laugh.....!

Here are some of my indoor silkie zoo babies born in December!!!

I have 2 huge rubbermaid brooders in the family room. I am in the process of building a new coop outside for them. They are 6 weeks and I am more than ready to get them outside. Not because of the smell because I do my best to keep everything very clean, but the dust is unbelievable. But then again, I think I might have officially gone off the deep end, I have the incubator ready for the next hatch. By July, Ill be in the looney bin.
