Just finished one hatch & gonna put more in Wednesday. Out of 18 eggs, we got 13 live chicks, lost 1 before it ever pipped, another pipped but didn't make it far, & 3 were just bad eggs. Brand new incubator, first one in years, & really not disappointed with the first batch.

All 7 chicks hatched! I'm so happy! It was super stressful but worth it and now i know what's going on so next time will be easier!! I'll post a picture of them all together when they're all dry and fluffy

Hello all.. My very first batch. I have a Brinsea Mini Advance. I currently have 9 eggs set, am turning by hand. I am at 52 hours now, everything seems to be going well. Temps and humidity steady. The eggs are a barnyard mix. I have Red Sex-link hens, and have a EE Roo. After having Chickens for nearing 3 years now, I figured I would try my hand at hatching. I am nervous and excited all at once. My brooder is patiently waiting for new little babies!

In spite of my Hova bator not holding as consistently as it probably should, last batch (1st one in many years) gave us 13 chicks out of 18 eggs. I'm optimistic & hopeful for a good hatch, but not expecting perfect. We're hatching mostly my boyfriend's game chickens but some of my layers, too. This batch includeds Cream Legbar, Mille Fleur Leghorn & Black Copper Maran eggs, as far as mine.
