I caught a(technically I caught 3 total) peacock bass! View attachment 1368392All the ones after it were the same size and looked the same. I didn’t catch the big ones. While I was trying to catch a big one(it was hanging around the shore) I fasted out really far but just then I saw the big peacock come back so I started reeling in quickly, a bass hit it, I kept going and then it hit it HARD! I fought with it for a minute or so. View attachment 1368397Then after a while of not catching anything at that pond I went to another one, caught some more and finished my day with a new pb of # of bass caught in a day of 10 bass! I used the lure on the other bass but on a little bass the lure(the one I caught my pb on) came off!! I was devastated, I didn’t catch and more fish but I was at another shore when I spotted something half floating in the water…MY LUCKY LURE!!!! I managed to grab it and it’s gonna be my new good luck charm. You can see where it got ripped off the hook by that stupid little dinky bassView attachment 1368400 so…I’d say I had a good day

May 1st opens ling cod season, May 5th starts spot prawn season, May 11th starts halibut season, YIPEEEEEE!

Gah! I just realized(after googling it) that I didn’t actually catch peacocks!!! They were just MASSIVE Mayan cichlids!

Most of the rivers and streams here are closed but I have to wait till 3rd Saturday in may.

Im sure glad Texas has no fishing seasons. 365 days available is barely enough. Salt or freshwater makes great options and turning 65 will drop the license fee at renewal.

There are no bass fishing seasons in Massachusetts so I can fish year round(but I dont ice fish)

I did see one actual peacock bass in the pond I was fishing yesterday, and I saw 3 big ones in the pond I was at today
