Stitch hasn't made it out yet, but is peeping in there. It's going to be a looooooong night,

My other 2 eggs haven't done anything yet. Stitch may not have any brooder buddies

Poor thing, I have to put the brooder together tomorrow. I know I am a bad chicken mama, but it was just an experiment.

It does take them awhile to dry, especially since they are in a humid environment. They can stay in the bator for up to 24 hours before needing to be removed.

I know, you want to hold it.....right.

By morning it should be dried out. Sometimes the have membrane and things on them that make them appear wet. My last hatch had a few of those, I was so jealous of other peoples pics of fluffy, downy chicks but mine did fluff up later.

Your baby is nice and safe and warm right now.

Anything else pipping or zipping?

Thanks for the answer I was in a panic! I haven't even looked the other eggs worried about this little one!! How cool is a splash showgirl!?

Can't wait for it to dry so I can really see it! Is it okay that it's not up and walking yet? Just kinda laying there peeping? By the way it hatched on day 20 could that be why?

It could be really exhausted. Just my personal thoughts on it. I figure they work pretty darn hard to get out of that shell.

Mine sortove stumpled and flopped over other eggs and would lay down and rest. Once they were dry enough I sneaked them out (I know BAD) and put them in the brooder showed them the water(dipped their beaks) and feed. Then they just sortove slept a bunch more.

I let them peep and yell in the bator for awhile, kind of like a coach cheering the others on to hatch.

I don't know if you can try sneaking it out without ruining the rest of the hatch or not.

OMG! Me too! The first fluffy chicks I had were from my broody. I had so many problems with temp and humidity in my styro bators. I am not sure if I could just not get the hang of them, or if it was because they were OLD and worn out

Either way, ALL my chicks hatched nasty and sticky so they did not get fluffy. I often had to help them out also because they would get stuck.

I am IN LOVE with my new bator. Chicks are FLUFFY in a few hours! Temp has been rock solid and humidity easy to control. Everything is going so well and I have 13 FLUFFY chicks and 3 drying with several more pips

If you need a new bator, get the Brinsea Eco!! It is small, but you cannot beat the ease of operation or the quality of this thing. Should be easy to clean too, I am actually not totally dreading cleaning this thing once the hatch is done. *off my soapbox*

Good luck to everyone else who is still hatching! We are all going to post pics when w can ... right?

I'm still waiting on the last lone egg. Today is day 21, in my experience with the eggs they tend to pip within 24 hours from each other so not holding that much hope. I am happy with the two I have. I had to take one out, one had yolk gunk covering her eyes and they were sealed shut. Cleaned her up and she was so grateful she could see, though she gave me the business after I was done.
