Who else is on lock down?

Man it is always something with hatching eggs. Sorry about the LG issues and lost silkies.

It's not airhead it's oldzheimers... age sneaking in on you no matter what age you are. LOL or Chronic CRS - Can't Remember S... stuff...

I try to blame those. Chuckle.

My shipped Marans eggs arrived with one broken so I wasn't very hopeful. Candling looks bad, not much hope there. Ah well, time to pay for reshipment. Wish you could charge the PO for that.

The three turkey eggs in the bator look good though, so those are going and I'm not bothering the turkey broodies with the rest of them under them. Should have 10 or so eggs between them.

Still no pips on the final 4 eggs.

One of the chicks that hatched is still dragging his yolk sag (or whatever it is) behind him. He's climbing all over the nonhatched eggs so now they are all pretty dirty and bloody. Will this effect the hatch?

Not usually, but if he's dragging the yolk sac it's best to put him in a cup or container or something so he has to rest and not snag it.

The time frame from contact with blood etc, to hatch is generally wayyy too short for it to create a problem. Just a bigger clean up later.
