Our meetings are 1/2 hour. We weigh in and then start the meeting. At our meetings we talk about how we are handling the week. And then we share suggestions that work for us. Maybe a recipe or two. And we talk about what is worth so many points. Like, one glass of wine is 3 points, 15 shrimp tails are 3 points, 1 1/2 shots of hard alcohol is 3 points, certain breads are 1 point a slice, certain yogurts are 1 point....You get the idea. And we share something that we found that was sooooo good and low in points. It just flies by.
But a couple of us have noticed that we NEVER would have thought that we would have to cut back on things like miilk and juice. 8oz. milk is 2 points. Most people have more than that in their cereal.
Let me tell you, I have been drinking A LOT of Crystal Light drinks. I found that I can still enjoy a mixed drink. I drink Blue UV vodka and Lemonade. Well- with Weight Watchers I can drink the UV with Crystal Light Lemonade and instead of 4-5 points a drink, I am at 2-3 for the booze. Or a glass of wine, but add in a little water and ice. So I can still have a cocktail or two with friends or DH. And I don't feel left out.
I went into this telling myself...I can eat anything. I just have to be warey of my food intake and portion size. That's a big part of my weight. Portion size. I life with 2 growing boys and a DH. They eat like wild animals sometimes.
I went to lunch with my granny, great aunt, and great uncle. (I had a southwestern salad) The support from my aunt was overwhelming- from my uncle... Not so much
Oh well- I've found tremendous support from the WW forums and here, too.
Oh man... Today was my cousin's wedding. Needless to say I ate WAY more really tasty food than I intended. Tomorrow I'm going to only eat veggies and my south beach diet bars (which are tasty and high protein). Man oh man...
I'm still hoping that I will have lost 5 pounds by Sunday. *crosses fingers* how's everyone else doing with their points?
Hey everyone!! Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing? How are you all feeling?? The weather has been getting nicer, so maybe spending more time outside is nice, eh? I was just thinking about you guys and wanted to say 'hey' and encourage you to keep going and focus on the positives every day.
For me, I have been down with allergies, and so I have been forced to dial down my exercise routine for the week. I have completed two runs of 4.5 miles each - and today is my long run of 6.5 miles. But this week I have been walking more and running less of the route than usual. It drives me nuts because I want to very badly keep up the intensity and fast pace - but sometimes that is just not possible and I have to deal with that. For dinner last night I had a fresh green salad with tuna and an ounce of smoked cheese. It was really satisfying and hit the spot after struggling with the last 1/2 mile of my run. I have been drinking water by the gallon it seems - but it is just what my body wants naturally; so at least I don't have to fight too hard in that respect. LOL
I wish everyone a very Wonderful and healthy weekend!!!
Thanks for checking in Sequin!
Things are good here. The weather is absolutely beautiful and my friends are about to come over so we can go see Kick Ass. Plus I just made some WeightWatchers gumbo and it looks delicious! Yay! I'm hoping to have lost 5 lbs for my check in tomorrow
Mmmm - YUM - Gumbo!!! Sounds delicious!!! So glad to hear that things are going well Kanchii. Reaching goals feels Awesome, eh?!! I am really very happy for you!!!
I bought an exercise bike Friday, and ate fruit all night at work. Strawberries, pineapple, and grapes. Does that counteract the fact that I went over my points tonight?
I had to use some of the weekly ones and I HATE THAT! Shame on me
I'm embarrassed to admit how many time's I've actually been on the program
It's a program that defiantly works, you just got to work it which is my down fall. I'm real good starting out the first couple months, losing weight and feeling wonderful, then I slip off the wagon and it's so hard to get back into the swing of things
I've been paying for the online program for the last 6 months, and only actually used it the first 6 wks
I know I need to just get back on plan, it's just so darn hard, I feel so unmotivated

That happened to me the first time I was on WW, too. I'm going to have to try really really hard to cut that out. Being on WW I've been realizing how much junk I've been eating and it really made me go "YIKES". I mean, I was probably eating easily around 40 points worth of food a day. Easily. I love bagels and pastas and mcdonalds and sweets... Ugh. Something that has really helped me is making a big batch of one or two of the WW recipes that are only like 5 points a serving and bringing that to work with me for lunch. And trying to eat it for dinner too whenever possible. Because when I'm out with my friends, it's pretty much impossible to eat healthy a lot of the time.
