Me too me too!
Our eggs are due Sept 21/22- Seven under a banty and eight under a standard Cochin with a li'l help from her sister.
Yesterday we panicked-the (flighty) banty was off the nest and the eggs were only warm (one MORE situation where I wish I had that fancy laser thermometer

) and no incubator!
There is now a new wish-list with incubator/turner and plug-in candler on it

She went back to the nest on her own after we gave up on trying to herd her to it. Did I mention she was flighty? lol with a capital F.

walkswithdog: you do realize, don't you, that you are now required to post pics of any chicks that hatch? They sound like they'll be adorable!

Cherlyn : You can get a plug-in candler from just about any poultry catalog. (p.55 in current Meyer Hatchery book, p.69 in McMurray) You could probably get one on ebay, too. I just haven't looked.

Ive had my first new bator recently a 'cuvatutto 24' but I paid extra for the auto turn from Ascotts. Its in my frontroom as I type! Ive got 6 mixed orp. 3 marsh daisys and 4 misc due around the 9th sept.

Its been a constant temp of 37.5-37.6c which is great. It took me a day or two to get the humidity right but its all looking good i think!
Im going to candle them in half an hour
