I got some eggs on the 20th and my due date is Sept. 10th! I'm on week ! so far and everything is going well. I have a lady that I bought some eggs from she had a mix of EE, RIR, red sexlink's and black sex links. So we'll see who hatches! good luck everybody and post plenty of picks when they hatch PLEASE!

Just candled!!!! I saw movement in 3/6 orps (the white, Black and Cuckoo) and in 3/4 of my misc but nothing in the marsh daisys

I can see air sack and a light shade at the bottom and dark area at the top of 'the non movers' Does this mean they arn't any good or are they a day or two behind?

I know that 6/13 wouldn't be a disaster but I was hoping for at least 13/13.

Candle the questionables again in a few days. Some develop slower or differently. After 10 days they're either going or not.

Umm 13/13 would be chickening not hatching.

That would be counting chickens before they're hatched.

This is hatching.

Not every egg is fertile. Not every fertile egg will hatch. Not every pipping egg hatches and not every hatched chick lives to maturity. That's why it's called hatching not chickening.

And they call fishing... fishing, not catching.

I set with everyone also on the 22nd, hatch due sept 11th....Im excited as always, not candling until suppose, or better yet...if I can be still and not get excited more so, not candling at all...

Just let it ride and see what I get.

so we all are in the waiting and watch cycle. I have my doz. silkies in the bator should have a hatch on Sept.11-12 ??
and i think i will candle them tonight. i have a
small flash light with the super bright blub. for got what its called. temp has been holding 100 all week and humidity at 55 %
that last time i hatched with the same temps i got 8 out of 9 so i was happy as it was my first hatch. .
but the next two had power outages and lost both.

I wont let my bator go that high on humidity....I keep it at 35-38% 1-18 days and then bump it up at the end...and candle if I must on day 10....Im gonna try and sit on my hands this time and not ...yeah right...

Good idea, I just plulled the little red plug
out ,so the humidity can go down some.
I never have let it go down I always thought 100 and 55 was ok.
Bator is in the pantry which has no heat or air but gets heat from the connecting kit.
