Oh, the new electric fencer really works, not as good as my old one that did not make the move but well enough that I had more then a few choice words to say and my neck still hurts from tensing up.

Are you talking about an electric fence for you dogs? Did you try it out on yourself first?

LOL!!!
If you're suggesting that my DH helped... LOL... that's a good one!
He watched me candle a couple of the eggs because I called him in to see the button egg.
When it comes to incubating eggs, he keeps his distance. He won't touch them or the incubator... smart man.

farrier!: So where's the pics of these bobs that hatched? A guy at work swears that bobs are the only kind to get... let's see pics!
Oh... walmart has a small flashlight (mady by Dorcy, I believe) that is about 100 lumens and will allow you to see very well... I'm talkin' heartbeats... for about $25. It's over by the camping stuff in our walmart. If you have a little penlight-type light, you will be amazed at what you can see with a decent light. As I remarked with the pics... DH & I were watching the embryo move around in the button quail egg - which is smaller than my thumb! It was really neat.
If all you need to do is check for veining and a airsac, a low lumen light works fine. If you want to see everything - even in darker eggs - get a high lumen light.

LoL Pagan at least Ur. Dh looks to see whats
going on mine is into whats going on in sports.. all sports .Lol

I candled the other day and will again on day 15
will that hurt opening the bator again. never have before
in other hatches.but I am anixous.

My DH doesn't butt in unless they seem to be having trouble hatching. He has gotten better about letting them be lately though after we had a couple of deformed chicks that he "helped".

Now he just goes - Oh we have new chicks again? The bator is in the basement and he never goes down there.

Yesterday my 15 year old gets this suspicious look on her face and looks right at me saying "MOTHER! Why is the incubator back inside? Are we incubating AGAIN?????"
Then as an after- thought she asked "Does dad know?"

She only calls me mother when she wants to sound like she has some kind of authority or to annoy me.

Like a little kid I answered "Its only 13 eggs this time

Ok, I just have to ask...
Store bought eggs? Are these from health stores or specialty grocers?
Because Shaws, Walmart, ...big chain grocers, all have the eggs in the fridge section.(cold)
I was under the impression that if you put them in the fridge that was it...they wouldn't work??
Sorry, just a bit confused...

wait, that's a normal state for me!

While we wait for the eggs to hatch:

Here is a picture of one of the two antique hanging lamps I got for my dining room.

I don't usually "have to have something" but I MADE my penny penching hubby buy these (and he did so gladly)

I just loved the peacocks on them and since I can't have real ones...

pbjmaker... Oh I love the peacock lamps
just beautiful. very good taste.
I sit wait and watch the bator in the next room
having the humidity jumpin down. so I
have been letting it stay at 38-41.
hatch date 11 of sept.

I like the lamps too.

I am scared to look in the incubator again.
I am frantically working on building the brooder right now....I need to go get some more 2by somethings...

Being diabetic I need to shovel food down first so I peeked here instead.

The fencer is one that will do 20+ miles for cattle or horses....
