I still need to go take a picture of BOOTS so you can see him....Im outside since its very cloudy and theres a light breeze...moving the emergency (ugly) mini coop we had built for my Porc. D'uccles over to the other Mini coop that is now called:
D'Uccle Manor...and Im moving over next to that until we can built a coop for the Buffs that hatched when yours did pbj...Aug 5-8th were mine...thats where Boots came from....he was the only CM

Taking a break and came to eat...popped in here...and find out PBJ...is blaming me for taking her bator out....shame on you....

Ahhh I have some mille fleur d'uccles. They are tooooo funny. Little chatter boxes. I used to have one porcelain roo but he went to live with thrndancer in Nebraska. I only have 4 hens of them now and a little serama X d'uccle that looks like she got a bleach job.

Insiderart - I know you didn't start with us, but you have to post pics of your hatch. After all, you did join us eventually!
I think I'll be getting some better qualitly silkie eggs before too long.
The silkies I currently have are... um... well... let's just say I wouldn't want my kids to put them in 4H for fear of getting laughed at.
One has a rose comb. 2 have single combs. 2 have pink beaks. 2 have very little foot feathering. One has regular feathering - not silkie.
I have one decent white pullet, one ok white roo and a gorgeous little blue *hopefully* pullet.
I guess I just need to go ahead and put a little more money toward my silkies. Let me know how your chicks turn out. I'd be interested in hearing from someone who got what they paid for, where silkies are concerned.

This is Fjior. (pronounced FEE-yow-wer)
She's my daughter's MF D'uccle. She was the only one to hatch out of 3 MF eggs. (I have 2 more MF eggs in the 'bator right now.)
This came from the same ebay guy I got my most recent eggs from.
She has excellent coloring & feathering. She's starting to get more of her "flowers" now that she's a little older. She hatched in May.

Aww I think MF are so pretty.

Here's my $45 chick! The only chick that hatched from this set of eggs. There was one that never pipped and died in the shell and 2 quitters around day 16.

But check out that vault... she should be a looker!

Wow, nice MF....I have two Proc. D'uccles that were given to me, because the woman cant keep them in a subdivision...has chickens and is trying to hide the fact, they started to crow, she bought more...and again has roos...thats all she seems to buy when they are 2 days old.....

Anywho, I need hens for them...cant find any...ok Pbj....here is my little Cuckoo maran...Im naming: BOOTS

Yeah thats a boy all right. He sure is pretty. I think he looks good - way more barring showing up than mine. But then again mine is only one copy of the barring gene from mama.

Thank you, I think he is handsome too...Knew the minute I saw him chances were good he was a Roo....and Im so glad, I needed one. You know that shipment broken ...a dozen eggs I bought....out of 12, saved 4 eggs and he was the only one that hatched. So I guess you can say he is My 25.00 CM Roo..."BOOTS"...
