Who else is waiting the impossible wait?

We're still waiting too. I told myself and all who asked that they won't start laying until mid-September, but I didn't believe me! I still check the nest every day. Maybe they are waiting until we get the new coop done and move them into their new spacious home to give us their gifts in return. I am going to have to really put some energy into coop building if that's the case!

We FINALLY started getting eggs about a week and a half ago. 3 of my girls were 21 weeks, now around 22 or 23 weeks old. My BPR started first, then a week later my White Orpington. Yesterday, I decided it was time for my buff to lay, so I kept all the big girls in the run until they layed, low and behold my Buff Orpington layed in the box. Now I'm wondering if she has possibly been laying somewhere else for the last few days.

Still waiting on my RIR and EE. They are about 2 weeks younger than my other girls, but showing all the signs. I think I should coop them up again today...

I was so excited to get my first egg, I blogged about it. Feel free to check it out in the August section.

Once mine start it sometimes takes a few days for them to become more regular. So you have only one started then? She should start just about every day SOON. And if the others are the same breed from the same source, they should follow soon too. Hopefully you will be getting full cartons soon.

They can be slow getting started due to heat. That seems to be my problem this year. This is the first time Ive gotten early March chicks.

No chance they are hiding them though?

I am waiting! My chicks are almost 7 weeks old. I know I am waiting until end of NOV at the earliest and I am just saying January. That way, I will not be checking them every day. Also, I am getting frustrated with the combs of my EE's saying Roo, Roo, ROOOOO. I think I may have 6 out of 11!!! That is just not fair.

Mine are 9wks......Looks like you have a long wait...............

I've only got two, and I want a buff Slikie hen, but the 3 chicks, if they are coming, have to wait untli next spring, so they'll be laying by, like, this time next year or longer.

We're now at 15 weeks and 2 days. I was so excited to hear the egg song the other day, but there was no egg. We heard the egg song again this morning, but it was the rooster!
Back to waiting....
