Who else took the chick plunge! (Pics on post 101)

I did! I was actually going to start a thread because I just placed my order and I'm so exited about it! I have 28 chickens right now (Brown Egg Layers Special from Murray McMurray). I got a mix of barred rock, some production red, some white breeds, plus more with my Special. This time I order from Meyer and got a whole mix of breeds. I'm so excited about them. I got Silver Laced Wyandotte, Anconas, Delawares, Dominiques, Cuckoo Marans, Golden Laced Wyandottes, plus more! I got 34 total. I'm so excited about these addition of different colors!! They are suppose to get here around March 20th! I'll be jumping out of my skin when it starts getting super close. I was dying to get some Speckled Sussex but I would have had to wait until the end of April to get some of those

. I didn't want to wait any longer than I had too. Maybe I can find some locally or wait until next year! Anyways - so excited about the new babies. I love my chickens!

Chicken math hard at work: He and I agreed on 8-10 (our first time with chickens)
On order:
3 Ameracaunna (sp?)
3 EE
3 Barred Rock
3 Wellsummers
3 BCM
3 Speckled Sussex
And hopefully
3 Buff Orps
3 SLW

I have 2 barred cochins, 2 blue cochins, 2 red cochins, 2 speckled sussex, 2 EEs, 2 white leghorns and 8-10 packing peanuts coming from Ideal. Their hatch date Is the 25th, so they should be here the 26th or 27th. Im getting close!!!

I had 30 chicks coming that I had ordered but after the last complaint from my neighbor I cancelled the order.

I've always got my incubators and great breeders to buy eggs from I suppose.

Perhaps next year I'll get what I really want.

I did it too! This morning placed my order, and will go pick them up a week from this Wednesday. Very excited, and lots to do. I'm beginning to understand what 'chicken math' is. My original plan of 6-8 became 15. Black Australorps. Can't wait!

I fell off the wagon and ordered 312 chicks all for delivery in the same week of April 9th. Plus the couple hundred I'll hatch out, should be a full garage for a couple weeks. I don't keep them all, the local supplier shut down last year so I'm bringing in some to sell.

At the moment, I have 3 chicks that I hatched out on 1/21/12 in the brooder.
On 1/30/12 I have 34 chicks due to arrive from McMurray Hatchery.

5-Columbian Wyandotte females
3-Golden Laced Wyandotte males
10-Golden Laced Wyandotte females
3-Silver Laced Wyandotte males
7-Silver Laced Wyandotte females
6-Blue Laced Red Wyandotte straight run
