Who got SNOW last night?

Iv'e seen it snow here in May Kris. Tuffoldhen is way north of me and probably about 1000 feet more in elevation. I'd say she has seen a few May snows too. We call it the Dogwood winter and Blackberry winter down here. Some years we get them and some years we don't. In 1998 we had a 3" snow around the first part of May. Broke a few limbs out of the trees as they were already leafing out.

Usually in midwestern Wisconsin we are done with snow by the end of March-I just thought that WV was so much farther south-

Yeah were farther south but the elevation makes a big difference I guess. Kinda like North Carolina and North Georgia. Were at 2700 feet here and there are places in Northern WV that are 4000 feet. Their are places in the Smokies in NC that are 6000 feet. They see snow later in the year also.

We got an inch last night. Really pretty to see it on the flowering trees this morning. All gone, now though...sun is out!

:/Well oddly yesterday it was all sun shiny and warm but this morning it was sooooo cold burrrrr lol but we went outside and it was snowing and somehow our porch had froze......weird in just one day.

Here in Colorado.....Wed was a gorgeous 82 degrees...then of course today we had snow! And a high of 42. That's Colorado! I was worried about my chicks too...they've only been outside since Sunday...but they did really good! We checked on them (way too much!) and the heat lamp was taking care of the warmth. When the sun did come out...they came running out to play! It's so awesome having chickens!

We are so happy!

I'll check in for SE PA. We barely inched up to 60 today, and it was rainy off and on...but NO snow! Everything is in bloom here and we have had frost warnings for the past two nights, but the coldest here was 38 (was watching closely cause the girls are in the coop and have not experienced anything below 36 since they started living out there). Temps are supposed to pop back up into the upper 60s in the next few days.
Now, my parents up in mid-Michigan did get some snow, but they live right off of lake huron; so that's nothing unusual all the way through late May. I must say, I don't miss the Michigan winters; even though I do love the snow (in winter, not spring)

BTW, my chickens don't seem to mind the rain or the cold, but they do take more breaks under the pines or their coop than when the sun is shining.
