Who has built a chicken plucker?

Cabellas also has one like that. For the money it's good BUT it is for small birds
and dry feathers (you pluck ducks dry because of the oil).

Could I use that for 20 cx that I will be doing in a couple weeks? Should I pluck them when they are dry? Do the feathers fly all over the place? If I do the feathers dry, do I still need to scald?

Thanks

Actually, I think that's very clever. My DH said he could make that for me in a few minutes while watching TV.

Whew...........got lucky. He's so tired of having another job on his chicken list.

This will be my first time with meat chickens........I'll let you know how this little gadget works.

I built two variations of this today, one 12" long and one 3". I'll be testing them tommorrow.

I may test one later tonight as I just found out my prize Spitzhauben roo tore all
the feathers off my black silkie.
