We've got 42 in the bator now, hatch date is the 13th! I did butcher 25 cornish rock x's last week, got 'em in the freezer can't wait for dumplin's

GAH!!!!

I had my second one-chick hatch of the year last night. What a pain!! Please please - please let one more chick hatch today.

Whew, I'm seeing some BIG numbers here! Where do you put all those chicks?

Mine are a week old today, 17 of 18 eggs hatched- #18 was infertile. First time ever, so I am indeed a proud Mama!

Getting Delaware Blue eggs, hopefully next week!

Yeah, hatching a lot of peeps takes a lot of room. For me, I sold/culled over 200 right from the hatch, so only growing out about a third of what I hatch. Still have brooders in the spare bedroom for fresh peeps, brooders in the garage/basement for growing peeps and nursery heated coops outside for 8 weeks and up. Some days I think I'm crazy, but it's all fun and will keep my projects moving ahead.

I have an old contractors shed thats been insulated, babies stay in the house 3-4 days old then transfered out to the shed. I go to a poultry auction the sell the extras.

Shhhhhh.....Don't tell my husband....Although, he might know, but since the end of January we've hatched a little under 250 chicks......So far, they have been "rehomed"......

Where's the hatchaholic group nearby..... Now that've I've totally I'm feeling in need.....

I've hatched out several small batches since January! I put my first group of eggs in the bator (my first hatch) on December 24th and haven't turned the bator off since!
