Happy holiday folks! Sorry still don't have much time to write. Putting in a fence (darn Chickens!
This guy IS thin. His mom had a hard pregnancy. Lots of care. But she is a fabulous mom.
Should have wrote that this is his first real day. He was born @10:30 the night before.

Awww poor guy. I’m sure he’ll fatten up soon!! It always amazes me how fast they start standing up and walking and stuff haha

Very true!! And he does look healthy. Just the ribs part surprised me haha but makes total sense considering yesterday he was all folded up lol they grow fast

Yep, barn kept, in a dim, not dark but no full sunlight either, and not touching the ground it will keep for a long time. We actually had it hanging

Yeah, they are pretty folded up though, so any fat would be a problem.

I remember a phrase about assessing a foal: "3 days, 3 months, and 3 years." At 3 days, he's pretty much done "unfolding." At 3 months, he will have fattened up and filled out. There may be some pretty awkward growth stages during years 1 and 2, but it should all balance out by age 3.
