Yup, my male is a jerk!Ya I've had them but am not a fan. Partially because almost every cockerel/rooster I've had were complete jerks.

So sorryI had 2 Buff hens. Sweetest birds ever. I had a Lavender rooster. Meanest thing ever walked the earth!
One of the Buffs died of egg complications The other one is 5+ years old and still occasionally lays an egg. The rooster passed away in his sleep. Now I have a LeghornXRed Sexlink rooster who is a pure love bug. I want to get a couple more Buff hens. Love em. Won’t have an Orpington rooster again.
Absolutely the same experience I’ve had. I hate buff males. Very violent towards my ladies.Ya I've had them but am not a fan. Partially because almost every cockerel/rooster I've had were complete jerks.
On the contrary, I have always enjoyed buff orp hens. Super sweet and friendly, and mellow.I am raising 3 buff orpington chicks at the moment and was wondering if anyone else has or is planning to or has some in their flock now!
There's nothing wrong if you breed well tempered birds, it's when you keep aggressive males around just because they happen to be the right breed that issues tend to spring up.All the more reasonable to not breed or keep them around IMO
