Who here is into Photography?

My photos are a mixed bag, some need a little help others are perfect as snapped, I'm cool w/ it either way. Some I edit for coolness factor that you could never photograph. I have a nikon D60 and photoshop and love them both, would like to take some classes in both (photography and photoshop) but so far the class schedual and mine aren't meshing.

I do agree that it's cool how the photo editing programs can make your photo look pretty much however you want. It is fun playing around and getting different looks!

Very cute picture of your little boy!

I am apparently late to this thread, but I have been taking pics and developing them since i was in the 8th grade and kicked my mom's car out of the garage so I could have a darkroom.

I guess it isn't right to bust Deb's chops about not posting pics if I don't post any, lol. So here are a few I took recently when a friend and I went up to Yucca Valley and then back through Joshua Tree National Park for the day. This is in the southern California desert area about 45 minutes north of Palm Springs.

This first one is on "Cow-lamity Jane", a gorgeous 10' plastic (polystyrene perhaps?) cow we encountered at the Yucca Valley swapmeet. She was proudly surveying the goings on from her elevated perch - police dept trailer!

This handsome fella was at the Yucca Valley swapmeet, too:

Later in the day we drifted home through Joshua Tree and I was intrigued by these next two. They were nolina bushes, similar to a small palm, which got fire damaged.

I find their structures kind of eerie. The first one looks like mourning figures and the second one reminded me of a horse rearing. What do you think?

Great pictures, y'all! And that's an interesting tree... plant... thing..., Pupsnpullets. I look at it left, I look at it right... Still looking... Catches the eye that's for sure!

A friend just sent this link to me. Some of y'all with kids might enjoy, but it's not bad to look at even without the kids:

I'll post some pics from some of my most recent adventures as soon as I get them up to shutterfly.

My favorite raw, unedited shots that I took at the Photo club are below. Thoughts anyone? (I have some reasonable shots, but they need some cropping so you can actually see any detail. I may post those if I ever edit them...)

I had some issues with the iso, so some of the pics of the white birds got pretty washed out. Does anyone know how to remedy this?

Also, I don't edit my pictures much (pretty much just cropping to bring the subject into detail). My mother is really into photoshopping her pictures but I mostly leave them raw. Are there any programs y'all might recommend that are cheap and easy to use? I have issues using photoshop.

Thanks!
