The ISO is a setting on the camera. You may have yours on an auto setting which lets the camera choose the setting according to how much light is available. As you have noticed a high iso causes that grainy look. It can get quite complicated explaining how to take good photos in low light conditions so I'd really recommend some community college or online courses. For now I would manually set the iso at 250 for sunny days and 400 for dull days. Maybe up to 500 but after that you will loose quality in the photo. Also, pick the brains of those in you Photo Club. Most people would love to help you.
