I sell on E-bay as well, but like to buy here better...I also sell here too! I don't tend to buy any more off of E-bay! I have had much better hatches when buying off here...not quite sure why!!!

every time i find something here it has already been snatched up and even if it is not i still have to get my parents ok and they could be out or at work and by the time they are home poof they are gone.

Don't get me started on Ebay again!! I was a long-time Ebayer until recently. It has more to do with paypal than Ebay...but Ebay's new policies that you MUST accept Paypal combined with the "buyer protection" of Paypal...it's a disaster.

No more Ebaying for me. I will sell on Eggbid because I think there are some serious breeders on there. Posting here on BYC is wonderful because there are no fees involved and it's like a family. WE get to know each other and what's going on in each other's lives...I love it...and I'm not much of a touchy feely person!

I never mind taking a money order but won't start collecting the eggs until I receive it.

Has anyone ever noticed the bidding on Eggbid is different? If I want to put my bid in, say, 25 dollars over the previous bidder--it jumps it to that immediately instead of in increments. That happened to me once--and I never did it again. I complained but got no response. Now, if I do bid it is in little chunks.

I think buying from eBay can be a great experience.

I've bought tons of eggs from eBay - I've had some 100% hatches on eBay eggs - shipped - and I did have one 0% hatch too.

Mostly I get about 60-80% hatches, which is really good for shipped eggs.

I've bought from several folks on eBay that I also see here - like Sandspoultry - got some marans from them, great hatch, fantastic birds! And bought several lots from Farmer's Wife before I knew she was on here and always had great hatches and excellent birds from her too.

I've also bought from several folks on BYC recently and have had great luck with them too - and they tend to be extremely nice too.

The difference is that on eBay more eggs are available, so I know I can always log on there and get the specific eggs I want. Here on BYC, I just have to "luck out" - and it is very lucky when it happens because I have always gotten a better deal here on great eggs.

So - overall I give eBay a thumbs up and I give BYC thumbs up too!

Good luck on your next hatch - I hope it works out well for you - it is always sad to get a bad hatch or to have chicks die like that.

You can use a sniper program to place the bid automatically. I've used ezsniper.com a few times and it worked well.
