Who Is At Day 18 or 21 Today on Their Hatch??

Me too, Brian. I don't have any eggs yet, but I should have some by the time these hatch (over the weekend). I told myself I was going to stop hatching over the winter, but I can't seem to help it!!!!!

Hi, mind if I barge in here with a picture of the chick that kept me up all night? I'm still waiting to see if 3 others hatch (1 is a guinea egg). They're all from my friend's flock and they were some of her first pullet eggs.

Here's the little mongrel:

I think he's soooo adorable! He has fuzzy feet. Could he have a buff brahma mommy? Or maybe a Langshan daddy? The only rooster she has with fuzzy feet is a white langshan. Hens with fuzzy feet include the brahma, white langshan and some cochins.

I know how much we all love photos

Can anyone tell me why I deprive myself of sleep with these little ones? I think I need help

(PS I have another 20some eggs incubating that are due in 7 days.)

Hey Cynthia, are we still on for November? I'm itching for the next hatch and this one isn't done yet! LOL

Yep, the week of November 5th. Hopefully, they will continue laying as well as they have been. I have no extra light on them this winter, so I have no idea how it will go as the days get really short. It's quite a high, isn't it?

Well today I made it to day 18 and candled them this afternoon and found 1 clear egg and took it out. I had 8 SLW so I'm down to 7 now. I numbered them when I got them and the clear one was #1, but my #4 egg is doing a little rocking in there tonight. This is so exciting. This is 2nd try as my 1st attempt failed.

Practice makes perfect. My first attempt failed too. The last couple of days I have had chicks hatching. It is so amazing I don't think I could ever get sick of it. Just remember be patient and you'll have Chicky's in no time.

Well... I didn't know I was on day 21 but I guess I was... I had another lone chick hatch.

Broody had stolen an egg just before her current chick hatched and so it has been sitting in the bator haphazardly for the past two weeks... and it popped out.
