Who is getting eggs?

I still have lots to learn, so I'm still researching. This year I might send the ones that don't hatch to UC Davis for a proper eggtopsy, but only if they'll do them for free.

Hum....I'm not that far from Stillwater, Oklahoma State University our agriculture school. I might send my unhatched eggs there. I'll call them Monday, and see if they do that. I hope they do it for free!

Who out there is an expert with incubators? My incubator sounded an alarm when the humidity dropped to 44%. I had just added water 2 days ago, it only raised it to 53%. It has been running at between 55 and 63%. I don't know what is the matter!

What's the weather like there?

I can about guess the humidity in my incubator by checking the weather. Today, for example, we are in a red flag fire alert. Low relative humity and high winds. House humidity dropped 20 some % and my sportsman dropped 10%.

We have been under a fire alert and last night we got 1&1/2 " rain. So when othe humidity was low outside it worked fine! Now that we have rain the humidity is acting up! It has now leaved off at 53%.

That's decent. I have some very dark BCM eggs cooking and I add no water until LD. We went from 5° to 60° and now we have fire warnings.

At 5 degrees I had 15%, at 60 degrees the snow melted, I had 30%, now I'm at 18% with fire warmings and warm temps.

Now if I would of added water at %15 it would of jumped to 55%. If I would of added water at 30%(with a high relative humidity) it would of only gone up to 40% or so. Weird how that works.

I know what was wrong with my incubator. The humidity dropped because I forgot about taking out the plugs to allow more oxygen. I put them back in and the humidity came back up! As often as I candle them there is plenty of oxygen in there! It seems like the only ones not developing got too cold or they were not fertile. I thought it was a little early for the guineas to be laying. It looks like the the first to hatch will be on Saturday. Wish me luck!
